greenbelt was great. glad to be back though, as my voice had completely gone by the last day… some may have thought that to be an improvement!
i met a whole bunch of asboers… they were all, to a person, wonderful to meet. the time in the pub with carole, phil, robb, dr ruth, caroline too, janetp et al was great. it is amazing how very much all these people are like their online presence… i really had a sense of how honest and giving people had been on the blog over the last 18 months. there was a lot of warmth, joy and discussion.
a big THANK YOU to those who managed to get along to the sunday night asbo session. all those who couldn’t make it were fondly thought of and missed. america and australia, not to mention many other places are a long journey to make just for a half hour asbo session and a drink in the pub.
the venue we were in was small and intimate, just the kind of thing for a family gathering… and that is what it felt like to me. and every time i showed another cartoon i was reminded of all the wit, wisdom and soul searching that has gone on here and the generosity of spirit behind the comments. i am very grateful.
i can’t sign off without saying that i thoroughly enjoyed doing the proost stuff as well. friday and saturday night’s events reminded me of why jonny baker and i do it. there is such a lot of creativity out there… all ages making amazing work. i came home tired and inspired.
so… another big THANK YOU to all of you who have made asbo what it is.
i’ll shut up now and get on with the cartoons.
love, jb x
